College Consortium
A consortium of London colleges and organisations has been put together by Logicom to develop a CBT plumbing package. The project will aim to create an innovative e-learning web-based training package with the initial material directed towards the plumbing and gas core curriculum aligned to the test certificate NVQ level 2/3.
The consortium includes the College Of North West London, Ealing Hammersmith and West London College, Skills Train, and JT Consultancy Ltd
The project will aim to create an innovative e-learning web-based training package with the initial material directed towards the plumbing and gas core curriculum aligned to the test certificate NVQ level 2/3. The programme is expected to be the first of a suite of programmes extended in later phases to tackle wider subject matters such as Electrical Installation, Construction, Painting and Decorating, etc. The programme will be ready for FE colleges by Sept 2007.
The training programme will be designed as an invaluable, cutting-edge e-Learning resource suitable for learners following the plumbing and gas curriculum at NVQ level 2/3, although it will also contain material suitable for level 1 learners.
This computer-based training programme will serve primarily as a supplementary teaching aid to the normal lectures and course material that relevant learners attend or have signed up for. It will seek to provide a more comprehensive approach to learning via the use of our current modern technological development capabilities. The creation of such a programme will hopefully allow learners to rapidly focus and feel comfortable with their course material whether learning in a college or at home, enhancing the learning process while filling a much-needed niche in the world of education at the same time.
