Ensuring effective training and development programmes
The starting point is to make informed decisions about whether, when and how to develop and deploy technology based training and e-Learning. Technology based training and e-Learning are not always the answer to training and development needs and they are seldom the whole answer. At Logicom Training Solutions we have a strong focus on instructional design.
It is sometimes tempting to move quickly over the instructional design and get started on the technological aspects of graphics, real world environments and programming. But good instructional design is the key to effective learning programmes. The leading member of the instructional design team is an acknowledged expert in their field, as well as having published authoritative books and papers in this area.
Demonstrating the business benefit
Training and development programmes are one link in the value chain, beginning with the business strategy that determines the capabilities which you need. This in turn defines the knowledge and skill required of your staff and drives your training and development needs. By including an 'impact' study in the evaluation of the training and development programme to compare staff competence before and after the event - particularly some months after the event - we can help you to relate the outcomes to the earlier links in the chain. In this way you can demonstrate the benefit that the training and development programme has delivered and its contribution to your business strategy.
Minimising your risk
We pay close attention to project management in order to minimise risk and ensure that projects run to time and budget. Because all of the key skills required in design, development and delivery are 'in house' we minimise our dependence on sub-contractors and therefore have close control of all aspects of the project. We work closely with you to ensure that you are involved in the risk analysis, know what information and sign-offs are required - and then help you to manage these.
Making learning stick
Too many training and development programmes are wasted because too little attention is paid to the organisational culture and environment. We help you to ensure a receptive climate for your training and development - particularly if this is your first venture with technology based training or e-Learning. We can provide assistance with on-line tutoring and help to develop your training staff to take on this role.
Existing IT infrastructures
One of the advantages of technology based training and e-Learning is that they can be deployed over existing IT networks. The risk is that the demands of the training and development solution can disrupt other, possibly critical, systems. Logicom Training Solutions has the IT skills to help your IT department implement technology based training and e-Learning with the minimum of disruption.
