Virtual Worlds will work on lower specification computers - however as with any software, performance will be slower. Along with RAM (or Random Access Memory) memory the Graphics card on your computer  is vital to the smooth running of Virtual Worlds and as a result computers with integrated graphics cards; which are built-in to the computers main board; are not normally suitable for running Virtual Worlds.  Please contact Virtual Worlds Support for further information.

Laptop Users - Laptops in general cannot have their graphics cards replaced in the same way that a desktop computer can.  As a result if you are purchasing a laptop you must make sure that the integrated graphics card is one that is made by NVIDIA or ATI and uses DIRECT-X and OpenGL 3D acceleration .  Also the "Approximate total memory" on these graphics cards in laptops should be to the amount shown above in 'Graphics Card' section and Dedicated and not shared. Please consult your IT dept. or IT consultant/contractor to check for this specification.
Virtual Worlds uses a software licence security system, which is licenced directly to your machine. This prevents loss, theft or damage of USB type security dongles.  Should you wish to change from software license to a dongle security method a charge of £200 applies.  There are two types of Dongles: The first being an older Parallel dongle and the second being more newer USB type dongle.  Majority of new PC's and Laptops are not equipped with parallel ports and as a result you will only be able to use a USB dongle. If you need to change from either dongle there will be an administration charge. If you wich to make this change in the first instance please call our Admin dept at Logicom to order your replacement dongle.
